OLD BUSINESS
ISTA Agreement with Brittany – Talking points were sent to Board before meeting by President. Michelle had sent out a proposal regarding the amount BSP would pay ISTA showing a sliding scale based on attendance & target prices. A detailed discussion was held regarding this issue. Both proposals were discussed and the following was mentioned: Michelle indicated if she threw $45 (per 100) targets, she would agree to the scale proposed in the talking points if we dropped all levels of the scale by a penny. The scale would start at 2 cents and go to 4 cents based on targets thrown/paid entries. The board agreed it was a good starting point. It was agreed that since the agreement is for two years, it should be revisited after the first year to review. She also indicated she knows the State Shoot might eventually outgrow Brittany Shooting Park and would have to be moved due to the fact that she cannot build any more traps but if a two-year agreements was agreed upon, there would be time to discuss and plan during a two-year period. The goal is to grow the shoot and if it grows, there is a possibility that we may outgrow the facility. Michelle said we have room to grow where shooters are involved. Pat Haskins made a motion to approve the $45.00 targets and the revised sliding scale from 2 cents to 4 cents. Charlie Bickle seconded it. Motion carried. The contract will be drawn up for all parties to sign.
A question was asked about changing camping rules--if people don’t pay for their camping spot by a certain date it could be given to the next person on the waiting list. Michelle said they would like to set a date to have everyone pay for the camping and if they don’t commit to it then go to the next person on the list but there is not much she can do when someone pays for camping and then changes their mind the week of the shoot to not come. No one is going to want to come mid-week or come to camp finding out the same week of the shoot.
It was brought to the boards attention regarding rumors of the IL State Shoot being moved to Sparta. There was discussion about putting an announcement on the website that a two-year contract had been agreed upon.
